There is growing evidence across Africa that incubation into specialised sectors allows hubs/ ESOs to differentiate their offering to funders, therefore financial sustainability of the organisation, and to achieve far greater impact on the businesses they work with.
Businesses that have environmental sustainability at the heart of their model can not only create significant impact in our communities by solving pressing challenges, but they also have significant potential for growth and job creation due to investment interest and allocation.
Launch League Green is a programme for hub/ incubator/ entrepreneur support teams that would like to increase their knowledge and network to run specialised programmes for green entrepreneurs in their community.
The UK-South Africa Tech Hub Launch League, designed and delivered by Viridian, has been working to develop the professionalism and sustainability of South Africa’s hub ecosystem since 2020 through providing open licence programme toolkits, practical resources for delivering programmes, and building the capacity and community of teams providing business development services across the country.
The Launch League Green programme will help hub/ ESO teams to understand how to specialise your programme offering as an organisation, and support your team in putting together a strategy and plan for focusing on green entrepreneur support in your area.
We will be selecting 10 hubs/ organisations to participate in the programme and community from May to July.
*Applications close on 8 April 2025
Three virtual workshop blocks (1.5 days each) in May, June, July.
After each training block, the participating teams will receive individual coaching sessions to discuss their specialisation strategy, partnerships and networks, and green content design.
One hub will also be selected and subsidised to run a short pilot programme.
